School Pictures

This is a picture of the new elementary school built in 1965. This school was closed in the 1990's by M.S.A.D #41 and the kids bused to Milo.

This is one of the old one room school house's located at Atkinson Mill's. In the late 1800's Atkinson had 10 of these schools for grades one through eight and two high schools. In later years this one room school house became the elementary school for grades five through eight. It closed in 1965 when the new elementary school was built.

This is a picture of the Atkinson Town Hall, and Fire Station. The Fire Station was closed in the 1990's. Before two additions were added on this was grades one through four on the bottom floor. The upstairs was used by the Ladies Aid from the Methodist Church to serve baked bean dinners every other Wednesday. The cost of the meals for students was 15 cents.
